I thought I had first heard of this book on this forum, but can’t ever seem to find what I’m looking for when I do a search.  Has anyone used this or have feedback on this?

I really struggle with nature study for some reason.  For awhile we did the “walk around the neighborhood and find something to draw” thing and it gets old finding the same neighbors’ flowers, trees, etc.  I’ll try to get them to tune into nature sounds, but we end up hearing lawn mowers, vehicles and other non nature sounds.  During the cold months I’m terrible about getting out.  They get lots of outside time, just not “nature study”.  In August they’ll be in a once a month class at our local nature center.

Just curious if any have used this book and found it to be an easy resource/guide to doing more nature study.

BTW, my kids are 8, 6, 2/12 and 8 mos.  Thanks!

Haven’t used it but I bought it for next year. I wish I would have bought it when my kids were younger. I’ve been terrible with nature study, unfortunately. I like how it’s laid out by month so you can just open to that month and find activities. HTH some:) Gina

I am a nature study failure. A friend recommended this book to us and I picked it up to start using this fall. My kids are 9, 7 & 4. It looks really great and I’m excited to start using it. We also have this: http://www.amazon.com/My-Nature-Journal-Personal-People/dp/0967245915/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374502562&sr=8-1&keywords=my+nature+journal They are gorgeousy bound hard cover books. We decided to use this when the kids were a bit older.
