Anyone have tips for using the SCM Your Business Math series with younger kids?

    I am planning to use the Pet Store book for my boys to practice math skills during the summer break.

    Does anyone have tips for using it with a 3rd grader?

    I’d also like my 2nd grader to particpate a little but am not sure at this point how much he might be able to do.

    The big issue you’ll run into is all the math. Unless your kids are ahead they won’t be able to do what they need to:

    Addition

    • Subtraction

    • Division

    • Multiplication

    • Decimals

    • Percentages

    • Rounding

    • Check writing

    • Accounting

    You may be able to simplify it a bit, but I would just wait until they’re each ready skill wise to do it.
