  • One thing that has really helped me understand about “getting it all done” is some wise advice from a friend… “You can’t!”

As imperfect creatures, we can’t kick ourselves when things go amiss. Somedays I eat too much, somedays I don’t excercise, somedays I forget to pray, somedays I panic with worry about something (usually about not getting something done! 🙂

But in these failures, God places our feet back on the right track. Resolutions are good, but require practice just like any habit. Somedays only by God’s strength do I get anything done, and that’s ok. In my weakness, God is strong! 🙂

Hapoy New Year ladies. I’m thankful for this forum!

I don’t have a list to post yet, but I do know that I need to add exercise to my life, New Year, or not.  We are at a place in our lives where this can more easily be added in (I couldn’t as easily when the kids were little).  We/my dh would like to add a game night every week (which will take me reminding him).  There are the obvious spiritual goals, as well.  My Bible used to be read daily, then something happened and that habit has gone down some (I don’t really like to call that a habit, but I will for the sake of this thread).

That’s all I can think of, again 🙂

Yes, I agree exercise although nice isn’t on my New Year’s top 10 list. 🙂 Ok, Here it is. I use to make a list. then slowly continue till I either felt like a failure or burned out trying. So, one year I didn’t make a list. So, then I felt ok. Not really guilty but felt I should try for something. I decided one goal was enough. That one goal has not been losing weight, It has not been eating healthier, or probably anything I should do on a regular basis. Not because I don’t want to do these but I don’t like failure and I don’t like my head full of things to do besides what needs to be done for today. SO, with that said I only pick one thing. This year it is a toss up between being more organized or having a meek and quiet spirit. With Michelle Duggar as my role model……Ok the more realistic one would probably be being more organized. My children would want me to have the meek and quiet spirit. LOL…. Ok so I am having a hard time picking. I am only going to pick one. Who wants to fail at two things????? 🙂

If you’ve struggled with resolutions in the past, I highly recommend this FREE audio!!!  It gives you great ways to set specific goals – I wrote down seven at the beginning of last year and then lost them – oops, but because I had followed his ideas for setting them and because I had gotten them written down they were in my subconscious and I still achieved half of them!  Hope this is helpful to you!

Thanks, Rebekah, for posting the Jack Canfield interview. I was greatly encouraged by it.
