    Year of Impossible Good-byes

The Ravenmaster’s Secret: Escape from the London Tower

    Snow Treasure

    Homeless Bird

I don’t have authors but I can get them, if that helps. I was wondering if these would be worth having in a lending library or for our own dc.

    TIA

I haven’t read any of them, but I see that Snow Treasure is in the SCM Bookfinder. It looks interesting and fits our time period of history for this year.

    They are Sonlight titles.

My husband has read Homeless Bird and said that it is a good story but a bit slow. My daughter and I were going to start it today but decided on I am David instead. We haven’t read the others. Snow Treasure is on our list to get to this year, but we are quickly running out of time.

Thanks. I think I’ll add Snow Treasure to our library and wait on the others.

I really liked Snow Treasure (by Marie McSwigan) when I was a kid. I bought a paperback copy for this reason from the bargin bin at a used bookstore even though it will be awhile before my kids get to that time period of history. Then I came home and read it myself! It’s about children in Norway who help move gold from the treasury underneath their sleds past the Nazi’s to a secret location and the men load it onto a waiting boat to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy.

Snow Treasure is GREAT.  I’ve also read The Year of Impossible Good-byes and liked it very much.

Thank you. I love to find books that have good/positive reviews to add to my bookshelves.

Many years ago, when I taught 4th grade, we read Snow Treasure together while talking about WW II.  The kids and I all loved it, and I look forward to sharing it with my boys in the future.
