I haven’t switched to Yahoo Mail Beta yet, mostly because the tone of their email introducing it had a rather bullying tone, sort of like “switch to it now before we MAKE you switch to it….” I do like Yahoo mail, though (have used it for about 8 years now), but I wasn’t aware that Google Chrome does not support Yahoo Mail Beta.
I access my Yahool mail from a link on my homepage, which is ATT.net. Are you saying that Google Chrome will not permit a Yahoo Mail Beta link to be placed on my homepage? Just wondering….
Hmmm….I just decided to click on the “Try it Now” button for Yahoo Mail Beta, and everything seems fine. When I am using Google Chrome, I can access it just fine by clicking the Mail link on my homepage’s personal assistant. Also, at the bottom of the webpage for signing up to try Yahoo Mail Beta, it says, “Yahoo! Mail Beta works best with these browsers: Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3 and newer, Safari 4 and newer, and Chrome 5.”
I wonder why it won’t let you use the upgraded version?
Sue, Yahoo classic works on Chrome, but I could not get the Beta to work at all – so you must be doing something I didn’t. I really like Beta and want to keep it, so will stick with Firefox. I ggogled the problm and there are quite a few people who say that the new Beta does not work with Chrome. If you have made it work, that is great, you a one of the lucky ones – I am not using IE 8 which it says it works with I have IE 9, Windows 7maybe that makes a difference. I am not techy enough to know the answer to that…Linda
Maybe it does make a difference that you are using Windows 7. I use XP. If I could figure out what I did, I would gladly let you know. Unfortunately, I’m generally a “try this, try that, and fiddle around until it works” kind of person, so I have little info to share….
