At the risk of muddying the LA waters that have been stirred up quite a bit lately, I’m wondering if anyone has used CAP Fable, etc? Opinions? I probably don’t need anything like this if I’m really following and trusting CM methods, but I think I’m getting nervous because I don’t see things coming together in the same way I did for my older crew.

You know, I guess this isn’t a very CM thing to do…after all there is only so much time in a day…and time seems to be seriously lacking in my life! lol Kind of funny that I’m even considering this since I was such a CM purist in my younger years. 😉 But the focus seems to be on imitation, which I like.

I just discovered this, and I am wondering the same thing. It looks like what I want to do, and it’s already laid out. With many children to teach, it looks like it just might save some time and still accomplish something. I’m finding that with myself, I’m not good at taking the time to pull together things like this on my own. I think I might get it for my 5th and 3rd graders for next year. 🙂

I have really been looking into this the last couple of days. I have one daughter trying to do Write With the Best, which is also an imitation style curriculum. I really liked the sound of WWTB, but it has been a complete struggle for this particular child. I was comparing the lessons between the two and showed it to my dd. It may be a visual layout issue, but the CAP Fables instantly drew her in and she was already composing a new fable. She likes to be creative within a few boundaries, so I was thinking that she might like thrive with this.

I bought it. Looked at it seriously and decided it was too much and shelved it to be sold sometime. Written narration is such a powerful tool and I’ve learned to trust it. Dd13 is using Jump In for some of the formal stuff and I feel like it’s plenty.
