Same as my AG list. Please tell me if some are too old or youngish for my children based on your experience and if there are those that can not be missed.
Mine are 12 and 13. The only ones non-negotiable are the ones based on actual sources (Unless they are too old for them, re: content suitability).
To be honest, I don’t expect to get all the way to Rome’s withdrawal from Britain, but I have it here anyway.

The Darkness and The Dawn, Attila the Hun ~~ I’m assuming this is the book by Thomas Costain? One of my favorite historical authors, btw, but I’d put ALL of his writings at a high school/adult level. There is a bit of gore, and a bit of sexual innuendo, the level of both I wouldn’t have a problem with for 7th and 8th grade, but his books are quite complex. A good reader in jr. high could get through them, but I think they’d appreciate it more with a bit more maturity, imo. And they are too good to be wasted on a skim read. YOU should definitely read it however. :>
