American history in modules

I was just searching through old history posts and there seems to be a lot of them about using BF american. This got me wondering, do the SCM guide thoroughly cover American history? Is there a need to add in/switch to get more American? I remember in school (around 5th grade) doing projects about the states and learning all that but never really the history of the country.
