Hi! First of all, thank you for the WONDERFUL resources on SCM. I love this method and all of the ideas and products you provide! I am so excited to use what I am planning for this fall. I have a second grader and a four-year-old. I would like to give a big picture of history this year. (Last year we did a little U.S. History only.) I was thinking of doing a little from each module you have on your website. What would you suggest from the resources from each module in order to accomplish the big picture or give a little taste of each time period? I thought maybe one book from each module would be plenty? Thanks so much for your response!

    Hi amd welcome!

Only have a minute right now, but just wanted to say that I have done a history overview with my dd6 this year – we opted not to use any SCM materials this year just becuase I do plan to dive into the history mods later. Anyhow, I blogged about what I am doing here: http://snowfallacademy.blogspot.fr/search/label/History

We kept it really simple in part because my dd is still developing her narration skills and in part because I am in school part time this year and I’d tear my hair out if we DIDN’T keep it really simple. =)

Hope that gives you some ideas!

Have you looked at Epi Kardia — I believe their history is ancient to modern each year.  You might try looking at their history curriculum to see if that’s the kind of thing you are looking for.

We did something similar and liked Usborne Time Traveler used in SL.
