    I have an 8 year old who is a struggling reader. We are using the Merril Readers. She is in the last reader for 2nd Grade level. Looking into using all about reading. Hoping for some feedback.

    I really like AAR. It is working well for my daughter as she is having a hard time learning. It is gentle and I go as slow as she needs. She really likes the art and stories in the readers. She enjoys the workbook activities.That being said, It was too slow for my son. Once he caught on, level 2 was too slow and he didnt like the workbook. But I think it is great for kids who need some extra time. I do think it works really well for teaching reading initially and depends on the child after that.
