Right now I have my 4th grader doing a page or two of Daily Grams 4 most days. It only takes about 10 minutes or less. She doesn’t love it but she’s never complained about it either. My middle daughter is naturally talented in all things language arts related it seems and I’m wondering about adding Daily Grams 3 for her next year. Right now she’s a second grader, reading very well. She finished up all the ETC books back in September and we haven’t replaced them with anything this year. Would 3rd grade/8 years old be too early for grammar? Would I be setting her up for burn out later? Am I totally over thinking this?
I would wait but with that being said, I started using English Lessons Through Literature by Kathy DeVore last month with my 10 yr old and love it! She has different levels and we started with level 3, the levels do not necessarily coincide with your child’s grade.
My son started Spelling Wisdom after finishing ETC and we discuss each passage together. And in 5th grade he picked up Vocabulary from Classical Roots by the same company as ETC. He had some grammer with Writing Tales and playing Mad Libs.
