Adding Resources; "Save" … what does that mean

Ok … so I do an initial search to see if the resource I want to schedule now or later has already been defined.  If it isn’t I then select the option to “Add my own resource”.

All is good … then most of the time I schedule it immediately.  If this is the case the resource can be found again if you do a search for it.  Now … the question I have relates to the other option; instead of “Save and schedule” … selecting “Save” only.

What I thought would happen is that the details of the resource is saved.  Then when I’m ready to schedule it … I can simply search and then schedule the resource.  If need be I can always search for it and continue to modify the information or complete filling out further details.

Problem:  When I do select “Save” … the resource never pops up in the search.  Are my thoughts relating to the “Save” option … not quite right?  Does the save only work; once the resource has been initially scheduled the first time to a student?

It just would be handy at times to define resources first knowing that later on in the year you will be using it.  At this stage you don;t want to do real long forward range planning; thinking about dates etc.  You just want the resource pre-defined in order to easily schedule it closer to the time.

So … please enlighten me 🙂

Your thinking is correct. Any saved resources should show up when you do a search in the Bookfinder. (They won’t be visible to everybody, just to you.) I have noticed that sometimes they don’t show up right away. I’m not sure why that is, but there seems to be some kind of processing delay. They usually show up later that same day, though.

The other way you can find your Saved resources is to go to Account (upper right corner of screen) and select “Resources.” You should see an alphabetized list of all your personal resources there that you can edit or schedule.

Thanks.  Tried the first option … searching via the Bookfinder.  The resource I defined earlier came up.

Checked via the other suggestion via the account and the resource also showed up there.  Thanks for this tip … didn’t know that one.

    Cheers Marcel
