I am going to be using Gen-Duet this year.  I am wanting to try to include a little more world history into it.  Someone suggested using Usbourne World History.  But I am not a huge Usbourne fan.  Is there a list somewhere that I could use to help me incorporate some living books along the way to introduce other things that are going on at the same time in other parts of the world?  I wouldn’t mind using the usbourne book as a guide for me. But my children don’t do well with them.  We have tried several and have been very dissapointed.  TIA

All Through the Ages has lists of living books arranged chronologically and by grade level. One of the sections in the second half of the book lists living books by geographical area, so you could find books on French history, Chinese history, etc.

This looks like an excellent resource!  Unfortunately my library doesn’t have it and I can’t spend $27 for anything else right now…. can anyone tell me what other historical events are going on during the same time frame that is studied in Genesis – Deut & Ancient Egypt, as that is what we will be doing this year for our history.

I ordered it interlibrary loan a while ago but it still hasn’t come in yet.  I might have to end up buying the ebook.  It is less expensive than the print.  🙂
