I think I understand what you are asking. You are reading a book about “Egypt” as a family, and you want each kid to do a project about it and those to be indicated with the organizer.
I think there is a “use with” indication, which I use to enter little odds and ends resources that I don’t want cluttering up my page but don’t want to forget about either. I don’t know what would happen to your use with resource if you marked finished on the original resource, though.
What I do in cases like you are describing is to make a resource called “Max – Egypt Project” for him and “Cecily – Egypt Project” for her and then mark them worked on until they finish. I might also just use my generic “Social Studies Activity” resource that I created for each of them and for the family, and I put in like 15-20 blank divisions, so I would write a note reflecting what they were working on – “Egypt Project” and describe it if I felt like it and mark it worked on and complete when they were done. Then the next blank spot pops up ready for the next project, magazine article, documentary, whatever we come across that it is more trouble than it is worth to make a special resource for it.
I have a bunch of these activities – art, math, language arts, whatever – entered as resources to help me catch moments when we do a bit of spontaneous work on something. It is amazing how much more I record when I have that ready made spot to take the entry.
Hope that helps and wasn’t too confusing LOL
