A small triumph to share

I wanted to share a huge, enormous success in my homeschool. My ds15 pretty much hates all things school, always has. Well today he was assigned to do government. I was logging his assignments in the CM organizer and asked for clarification on what he read. He proceeded to tell me all about how a law gets passed. But wait, that isnt the best part. He couldnt remember a term used in the book so we went to check the assigned chapter. He said “oh no, not that chapter, I read that chapter, it was boring, but I skimmed ahead and thought the chapter on laws looked interesting so I started reading and couldnt put it down”. What?! He NEVER reads ahead. Wow, I nearly fell over….
