We have read 3 of Holling C. Holling’s books (Paddle-to-the-Sea, Minn of the Mississippi, Tree in the Trail), and we’re still working on map drills of North America. I’d like to add a little something more. Somewhere I got the idea to take a look at Van Loon’s Geography, but….it’s not doing it for us.

I’m wondering if there are any other print resources that any of you might recommend to finish out the last few months of the school year. I’d even like something short and sweet to touch on Canada & Mexico, not just looking for U.S. geography materials. Or even a good dvd to round out things. I know we wouldn’t have time to do much with Geography: A Literature Approach.

CurrClick has some short and sweet resources for geography, maybe you could find a lapbook for one of the places you’d like to know more about.

There are a couple of short books that may work for you. C.C. Long has a geo. book and its online. I forget the title, but it’s something simple like Elementary Geography. Also, Charlotte Mason wrote a similar short book and Queen’s sells it. I’m sorry I can’t the titles or links right now.
