I went to the demos and I think I have a better understanding of how this wonderful tool can be utilized.
I want to do certain subjects as a “Family,” but I noticed they don’t show up in the individual student’s report. It looks like she has some subjects missing. Do you all not use the “Family” option if you have multiple students, or do you create a report for both Student and Family and put them together in the Student’s file?
Notes question: I have been using the Daily Notes at the top of the page sometimes. I haven’t used the notes beside the individual subjects because I didn’t think they were saved daily; are they? Can you type a note, for example, about the math that she’s done next to the math subject and save that note for future reference?
Since I didn'[t answer the other questin and meant to, I”ll combine answers here:
Every morning I print out the “All Students”; on the printout the “family” shows up as well as the 2 indivisual children. It conserves paper that way as opposed to printing out for each (family and 2 individuals, alot more paper). They know theirs is on there, they just have to look a little harder and share the paper. Also, if we do anything extra (crafts, field trips, extra classes outside the home, movies, documentaries, books, audios, ect), I put it at the top ” daily notes” area. When I need to enter in what I want them to do beyond what’s been entered, I put it in the “notes” section next to the subject. For example: Both children are reading “A Child’s Book of Veres”, but are on different pages/poems. When I entered it, I didn’t put in any sections and certainly wasn’t going to write out each poe! So, everytime they read them, I place the next poem or page for them to strat in the side notes section for next time (BTW, they are intructed to write in on the printout the next poem coming up so I don’t have to find it)
As for reports; I printout monthly and save in my HS Notebook under records. I printout a detailed, with notes showing printout.
I do keep another separate book log on each of them, as they go through so many more books that I wouln’t be able to put them in the Organizer fast enough. I keep that in the HS notebook, too. The state doesn’t want any of this; it’s just for me.
