  • Hi, My soon to be 14yo daughter wants a formal history lesson. She is an avid reader and has gleaned all her history knowledge from reading books of her choice. But now, she wants to do high-school work. Which of the modules here at SCM would you recomend she begin with? This will be the first of four years of study for her.

    Hi Sharla,

You may want to start with what is typically required for a highschool student, which, in our case, is one credit of world history and one of American history with a government emphasis (or that can be taught as a separate course). We have found it beneficial to get the ‘have-tos’ done early in the highschool career. Beyond that, you could go with the study where her interests are or where you think she may be needing more study.
