My 6 yr old son continues to write backwards. He is an early reader so his reading isn’t an issue. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

My son is 8 and he has slowly leveled out doing this. He still slips with b’s and 3’s. He will be learning cursive this year and I hope it helps to stop these two characters. I worried about learning disabilities or eye problems etc, but he thrives in every other area and he is reading very well for his age. HTH

    It is fairly normal…. a few questikns….

Is he left handed? It is much more common with some lefties.

Is it certain letters… and is it just a few? Also normal.

Or… does he ‘Mirror Write’? Echo, my 8yo daughter, used to mirror write from toddlerhood…. as in start at the right side of the page, all letters reversed and all words reversed. You could read it in a mirror. She is a leftie. It has been a long road, and she still rights some numbers backwards by default… Foxtrot, my other leftie never had an issue.
