I had wondered this too. While I do have the What They Left Behind cards I was wishing there was a more economical choice. I ended up getting some art cards for Impressionist, etc. through Amazon. They are a bit bigger than playing cards and have a little booklet, but I would have prefered to support SCM.
We thought about it but we wanted the art to be clear and visible so you and your children can notice and enjoy all those wonderful little details. There are some really great things you miss in a smaller print.
Yes… but we do the picture study with the larger print, then each student gets a 4×6 print for their ‘book of masterpieces’…. my kids love to look through their books each week.
Yep…we also give a 4×6 to each child for their own “art book”. Dover used to carry a great line of postcard size prints, but they seem to be hard to find now.
This is exactly why I was asking this question! 🙂 I love the bigger size prints for picture study, but my dd’s want to make a notebook of art prints – their own collection.
I can hunt around and buy them somewhere else or have them made, but I would love to buy something like that from SCM.
We love having 8×11 sizes for our display but I totally understand the need for small ones for journals. We display the picture we are studying on our computer desktop all through the week (as well as a paper copy) since our computer is in our school room. Have you tried locating your painting online and printing the image out on cardstock for each child? (I know ink and paper are expensive.)
It’s so hard to find large prints these days! I am so thankful for SCM’s resource in this area. They are so lovely and delightful! Another great quality product from SCM.
Memoria Press has art prints but they are collections, not sold by artist.
Oh I agree, Doug. The larger ones are nicer and you do loose something with the smaller prints, but for some of us it is either the smaller or none. But like these ladies, I do appreciate that you offer the harder to find large size.
