Your unit study ideas look fun! 🙂

We are a very eclectic family, using some CM methods where they work for us. For my kids this fall:

12th grade son (my second graduate!):

    • Mathematics for the Trades
    • homemade CM-style literature and composition
    • Conceptual Physics
    • Canadian history & gov’t
    • homemade health elective
    • I will also give him a 1/2 credit for farm work experience

    10th grade son:

    • MUS Geometry
    • homemade CM-style literature and composition
    • Apologia Biology (done in the least stressful way possible)
    • Notgrass World History Part 2/MOH 4
    • Python Programming
    • Intro to Rhetoric

    8th grade son:

    • Key to Percents, maybe MUS pre-algebra after that
    • Daily Grams 7
    • R&S Spelling 7
    • narrations, outlines and rewrites
    • Apologia Botany for first semester, then something else later
    • Middle Ages and Early Modern History
    • various logic puzzles

    3rd grade daughter:

    • Teaching Textbooks 3
    • Easy Grammar, R&S Spelling
    • oral and written narrations, plus keeping a science notebook
    • Zoology using various books of interest
    • Middle Ages and Early Modern History with older brother
    • Canada Map Books to cover some Canadian geography
    • art projects of her choosing, piano lessons and hymn-singing

You unit study ideas motivated me to keep up our unit studies in the new school year. We paused unit studies this year bc we had a new baby in July. We mainly focused on play and 3R’s. My oldest is only 9. I’m looking forward to planning some unit studies for this new school year!
