Hello, I am working my way through Planning Your Charlotte Mason Education combining AO with HUFI and a sprinkle of Montessori. I am ready to look at the calendar for the 3rd term’s dates which would begin in May for us due to a late start in October and scheduled “off dates” for holidays, sanity, etc.. . .Of course May would be when we could possibly relocate with the military. We are still awaiting confirmation of the “if, where, and when” of that move. I am looking for input as to whether the consensus would be to go ahead and plan it as though there is no move happening so that I at least have something on the books, and then I can shift and adjust as needed when we find out what is happening? Caveat: this is my first year of the full CM method, and first year planning with AO, HUFI, etc. so I have time and energy this Summer :-). Thanks in advance! LaShawne
LaShawne, I am not a military wife but my sister is (and homeschools her 4 kids and will be moving from VA to Germany in May). She would say go ahead and schedule it. Then if you find out in May you’re moving, all you will need to do is shift the dates for each day’s assignments. Maybe instead of May-July it would be mid June-mid Sept, who knows, but it would be already mostly planned.
I was just going to say, plan your term but don’t assign dates to it. Label the term by “weeks 1-12” ( or how many weeks you do in a term) and you should be fine to do week 1 of term 3 no matter where it happens to start!
