All-Day Charlotte Mason Seminar – Live!

October 24, 2009
St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church
Longview, Texas

Join us for hours of encouragement and practical how-to’s
with the Charlotte Mason method!

The Seminar

  • 8:30 am: Doors Open

Check in when you arrive to receive your free 60-page book of notes. Then get to know the other moms who are attending, and form new friendships with other CMers in your area. You can also visit the SCM book tables to browse our resources.

  • 9:00 – 10:15 Introduction to Charlotte Mason

We start off the sessions learning a little about Charlotte Mason herself, her mottoes for parents and children, and how she fits into world history.

  • 10:30 – 12:00 CM Methods

Then we launch into the main focus of the day: how to teach each school subject using Charlotte Mason methods. Lots of moms have told us that one of the highlights of this part of the seminar is learning several of the main methods by actually doing them. It’s great practice, and they learn first-hand what they are asking their children to do.

  • 12:00 – 1:00 Lunch

Spend time with new friends and old over lunch at a nearby restaurant of your choice, or bring your own sack lunch if you prefer. You’ll also have time to take advantage of the discounts at our SCM book tables (with no shipping).

  • 1:00 – 2:15 CM Methods (continued)

The day is filled with lots of Q & A, fun, and fellowship as we continue to look at each school subject the Charlotte Mason way.

  • 2:30 – 4:00 Laying Down the Rails

At the end of the day, we add in the Laying Down the Rails workshop on habits. This quick, practical overview really helps moms get a jump-start on how to cultivate good habits in their homes.
