I need to start filling my shelves. Where are your favorite places to look?

I use the two Bookworm suggest a lot.  I have also purchased a lot from the WTM forums.

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClassCMSwap/

I would just caution you to do a thorough check on the person you are purchasing from at WTM.  I recently purchased from a mama who had no reviews but had done lots of posting on the forums and even has a homeschool blog.  That satisfied me, but it’s looking as though I may not be getting the items I paid for.  🙁  I know there are a few people out there who take advantage of us trusting mamas!  That said, I purchase almost all of my items used, and this is the FIRST time I have had any issues!

Many of those above, and also http://www.abebooks.com, http://www.half.com.  Those are my first two choices, then the homeschoolclassifieds, and yahooCMcurricula group.  I also check ebay and craigslist, have found my Math U See books for very cheap on those too.

Out of all of them, AZ is my favorite because I can get free shipping and being a Prime member the books arrive in 2 days.

@pinkchipsticks  Being a Prime member do you get free shipping on everything?  Or just some items?  We had concidered getting a Prime membership but I noticed that one of the books I wanted that qualified for Prime was $5 or $6 dollars more than a used price with regular shipping.  Does that happen alot?

Not everything on amazon is eligible for Prime shipping.  Those that are are marked “Prime” in blue.  I have Prime membership and have found it to be very helpful.  Before buying used on the other sites I listed, I usually check Amazon first.  More often than not, I still end up getting a better price from other mamas (pretty sure most check amazon first before pricing their items), but it is worth doing the comparison shopping!

I also like http://www.bookfinder.com.  It checks multiple sites for you for the best price.

Kristen, there are other sellers on Amazon that ship the items themselves and are therefore not included in Prime. Anything that Amazon stocks themselves is eligible for Prime as well as other sellers that have their items in the Amazon warehouses. Typically I try to buy only things that are Prime eligible.

What really made me take the plunge on the membership was a printer cable I was looking for and needed quickly. It was $22 at Best Buy and $3 on Amazon with free shipping for Prime! I held off for a long time on Prime membership, but now I would not be without it!! I am hooked on AZ. I buy household goods, groceries, etc from there. 🙂

As well as the above mentioned, there are two more and you should sign up for their sale emails to get the best deals:

    http://www.visionforum.com

    and

http://www.libraryanded.com, which is wholesale to schools, libraries, and churches (included home school). A few times a year, they have certain books to choose from to receive free to match your order. So if you spend $100, you get $100 in free books to choose from. Sometimes there are free shipping deals. They have many titles from Master Books, Drive Thru History, Adventures in Odyssey, Your Story Hour, American Girls, etc. as well as library bindings of history and science books which sometimes includes original source documents.
