Besides Mapdrills, what have you all done for dc to memorize all the states in a timely manner? Also, for continents, counries and oceans of the world. Looking for some fresh ideas. Thanks, Heather

Online games, like seterra (I think that’s what it’s called), music cd’s by Geography Songs (I found mine at Rainbow Resource, but I’m sure amazon has the same thing), puzzles. There are other online games/sites, but I can’t think of their names, sorry.

That’s all I can think of right now.

http://www.sheppardsoftware.com is a great resource. My kids used that all last year and (ages 6 and 10) learned their states, capitals, and all the countries in Central and South America. They challenge themselves to try to do better each time.

My kids also like http://www.addictinggames.com/puzzle-games/50states.jsp. It’s better for learning shapes than names, though.

Geography songs by audio memory and apps on the iPad – tap quiz maps; Montessori approach to geography; stack the states and countries; shake the states; spell the states
