Is there enough in the Modules or do I need to add?

I’m sorry if I seem a bit of a dunce, but I’m trying to figure out a manageable way to CM educate.

I began with AO Year 1, swtiched to HIFI (very similar to AO, but American instead of British history) and am currently not CM educating, but am eager to return to it.

I’ve found SCM and love the daily lesson plan guides! I’ve been comparing the curriculum guide on SCM to both AO and HIFI and SCM has WAY FEWER books for history, geography, literature/tales and additional reading. I would love to switch and have all 3 of my kids studying the same history cycle, but am I going to need to add in lots of other books? If so, that defeats the purpose of the daily lesson plans for me.

I guess I’m trying to decide whether or not to return to Higher Up, Further In (very much like AO) and then add younger books for the littles or if I should switch to Module 3 (this would be a bit of a repeat) and use as is or add more books.

I need a reasonable, workable, challenging, simplified plan. HELP!

You don’t sound like a dunce at all! Determining a course of study is hard work and deserves a lot of research, prayer, and thought. Of course, you know your family best and are in the best position to make the decision. What seems to be challenging to one child might be easy to another child, and vice versa. So go with the framework that you think fits your family best and then tweak it as needed to become a customized plan for your children.
