This is a super good resource. However, I’m wondering if I have the wrong edition of Pond and Stream. The cover looks different than the picture on the companion, and the pages and chapters in the companion don’t match up at all with my pond and stream book.

  2. Emily

Maybe I’m just having brain fog. But the pages and chapters in the online book don’t line up with the companion either.. I imagine normally it would be pretty simple to figure it all out but it’s confusing to me today….

  3. Karen Smith

Emily, Pond and Stream by Arthur Ransome is available for download from both a website dedicated to Arthur Ransome’s works and Gutenberg.org. The chapters should line up for either of those. The page numbers given in The Pond and Stream Companion refer to the page numbers on the original book files on the Arthur Ransome website. We included the page numbers and a starting sentence and ending sentence for each day’s reading from Pond and Stream so no matter which version someone downloaded they could easily find what to read.

  4. Melissa

This is a really great resource, but I didn’t realize when purchasing it that there was a rather long list of complementary books needed that I would need to hunt down at the library or purchase. I suppose you could do without these supplements, but it would be pretty meager without them.

  5. Tedi-Lea

Fantastic study with my 7 year old. We started it as a spring-fall study, which is perfect timing to catch all the creatures studied. He was so fascinated we have lingered and supplemented every topic with more library/on-line resources. Only half through and plan to do second half next spring-fall.
