A delightful, well-rounded collection of poetry by Longfellow. My large family, with kids (boys & girls) from 12 to 8 (and a five-year-old & preschooler who listen in), especially enjoyed the poems about the weather: the first snow and sunny days especially. Our vocabulary has increased, and I appreciate the notes on the side with definitions as well as explanations of obscure references to myths or other cultures, etc. I’m happy to find that repeating a poem really does result in memorization, and even my five-year-old can recite “Something Left Undone.” In all, I’m so pleased with this resource. My family is learning to love poetry, and our weekly readings feel like visiting a friend, our friend Longfellow.
