What type of paper should a second grader use for general work that involves writing? Regular ruled or three lined? Also large or small line spacing?
Alicia HartParticipantYou can look on charlottemasonhelp.com for ideas on this OR possibly Donna Young’s website.
I would lean more towards larger spacing and not rush to smaller.
HTH!
amyjackson543ParticipantMy son was in public school last year and had to write a paper with a poster presentation. The teachers were not expecting much, but they had to write a paper with Intro., 2-3 paragraphs for the body, and a conclusion. This was completed in print (Not cursive) and was written on wide ruled (aka regular ruled) paper.
Hope this helps.
amyjackson543ParticipantHe was in second grade. Sorry.
missceegeeParticipantLarger (like k-1 maybe 2 dotted center line) is actually harder bc you draw your letters instead of writing them. Lines or no lines is less important than size.
AmberParticipantSo would wide rule notebook paper be ideal or is that too small?
cdm2kkParticipantI think it depends on the child rather than age. My 3rd grader writes big and I can’t ever see her writing on college rule, but my 2nd grade son, well he does great on college rule because he writes smaller. I have just started them on HWOT and so it has it’s own paper which ironically is working for both, but my daughter is working harder at keeping inside the lines. HTH.
