My daughter is fascinated by World War II. We’ve scoured the book lists and she’s read most everything I can find that is appropriate for her age — but I’m certain there are others out there that I haven’t yet discovered. Might anyone have recommendations of living books surrounding WWII that would be appropriate for middle school reading age?

I think there was a thread recently asking for favorite read alouds. Piet Prins was mentioned as a favorite author. I think the books are written around or about WW ll. I picked up Scout, The Secret of the Swamp and it looks pretty good. These may be more for boys, but since we’ve never read them, I’m not sure about that.

The Winged Watchman is published by Bethlehem Books and they’re having a fabulous sale right now!

When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit is another WWII book.

My mind is blank right now, if I remember others, I’ll let you know.
