Oh, I can give you some great recommendations for folk song collections!

    • 150 American Folk Songs to sing, read & play, edited by Peter Erdei. Boosey & Hawkes ISBN 0-913932-04-3. (for K through upper elementary)
    • Sail Away: 155 American Folk Songs, edited by Eleanor Locke. Boosey & Hawkes ISBN 0-51-80680-5. (K through upper elementary)
    • My Singing Bird, edited by Ida Erdei, Faith Knowles and Denise Bacon. Kodály Center of America ISBN 0-935432-10-8. (for grades 2+)
    • 120 Singing Games and Dances, by Lois Choksy and David Brummitt. Prentice-Hall, ISBN 0-13-635038-0. (This one is in high demand and therefore, very expensive.  For grades 2+)
    • 150 Rounds for Singing and Teaching, by Bolkovac and Johnson. Boosey & Hawkes ISBN 0-51-80860-1. (for grades 4+)

Also, Jill Trinka collections I hear are wonderful!  I do not own them, but I have friends who use them with their music students.  They include CDs as well.  If you want a collection of folk songs on CD I would go this route.  It appears they have songs for preschool through upper elementary.

    HTH!
