Where can I find The Burgess Bird Book for Children with color Illustrations???

    I am hoping one of you ladies can help me out.  We are doing Learning About Birds with Thorton Burgess next year.  I am looking for The Burgess Bird Book for Children.  I realize it is available in the public domain but I can’t seem to access the ones with images.  Are they in black and white or color?  Is there a version with color illustrations available?  I appreciate any direction can give in this area.

    The books available that I have seen have black and white illustrations. I spent some time gathering the original color illustrations and created a PDF of them for my kids. They are available as a free download from my blog along with some other links and ideas. Here is the link:

    There are color hardcover versions available, but you would have to search online for it in used book stores. There are two on Amazon, which are $60 and $100.

    However, I did find you a Kindle version with color pictures, for only $0.74 🙂

    Thank you, 2Corin57!  I thought I would let you know that I found a hardcover Burgess Bird Book on Ebay.  I paid about $13 and it was in good shape.  I am beside myself.  It is siting on my bedside table.  I cannot tell you how good it feels to have one of the old original books with color photos.  Thanks so much for your feedback!  We are looking forward to the next year 🙂
