    Hi all!

Being that Book 4 and 5 are still in the process of being written… what are y’all using after you complete Book 3?  Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jamie,

Our current recommendation is Math-U-See or Right Start Mathematics.  Both companies have placement guides available on their website to help parents best place their children.

    First off… I’m so embarrassed!  I spelled “arithmetic” wrong… 😳

Second… thank you for the response!  I’ll definitely look into them!

I realize there are many good math courses available. (Thank you, Abba!) I assumed the Beauty & Truth Math guides would be your first suggestion. Can you tell me the advantage of MUS and RS over the Truth and Beauty guides which coordinate with Strayer-Upton?

I am just about to buy something to help me teach my student who is finishing book three of the Early Arithmetic Series.

    Thank you in advance!

We do not have hands on experience with the Beauty & Truth Guides which is why we do not recommend them.  Both MUS and RS have been used by the Smith and Shafers.  They are solid programs and with some minor adjustments, can fit well within a CM education.

A couple options come to mind:

Many families utilize Mathematics: An Instrument for Living Teaching to create their own lesson plans.

There is a group on FB called Charlotte Mason Math Together that will be most helpful during your journey to continue with Charlotte’s method while we work towards publishing the rest of the math series.
