Hello all you lovely Moms π
I have a random question. Does anyone know if Charlotte Mason spoke of doing research papers? I’m talking about the traditional research paper that uses steps and has you write down info on those 3×5 cards. I have not come across it yet in our time of using CM. Is this important to know…. how to construct a research paper? Help me out wise Mommas! Thank you!retrofamParticipantI think it is important, especially for college. Β I require at least one for my seniors, college or not.
MelissaParticipantBeyond the Book Report by Analytical Gramar, Season 3, recommended by SCM, covers:
The Essay
The Oral Book Report
The Research Paper
I have only recently gotten started with my just-turned-15yo son or I’d tell you about my experience with it!
ErinDParticipantI doubt if CM talked about them, but I could be wrong! Seems to me they are sort of a modern thing. My oldest is only in 9th, and I am having him do two a year, but for now I’m sort of treating them as a longer expository narration. π Also, I am using them as a tool to teach how to cite sources, so the length and the method are less important to me.
Melanie32ParticipantAll college bound students should learn to write a research paper at some point. I’m saving it for 12th grade.
Eirana DoyleParticipantGreat thoughts, ladies! Thanks for your input!!
