We are using ELTL (my 13 yo is using level 5), which covers all our LA, including grammar and literature. I sub in Spelling Wisdom for ELTL’s dictation portion of the lesson (you could easily sub in a different spelling as well). ELTL has lots of “hand holding” with the written narrations as has been great for my writing-phobic DD.
Another option would be to have him read good books and do some oral and written narrations. DD does a written narration every week (either for history or literature). You may want to add in a grammar program like Analytical Grammar, Winston Grammar, or Our Mother Tongue if you go this route.
