When will the book 3 for Using Language Well be available??? I am working on my plan for next year and I was going to use that book for two of my children and its not available. If it won’t be available any suggestion for alternatives??
SheenaParticipantCan I use ULW book 1 without Spelling Wisdom??
Sonya ShaferModeratorI want to have ULW Book 3 ready for fall, Sheena. That’s my goal; unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that it will definitely happen. If it is not ready, I would recommend that you do Analytical Grammar instead. It is more in-depth than ULW will be, so you can be sure that you will be covering everything (and more) that will be in ULW.
ULW is a supplement to Spelling Wisdom. You’ll need the corresponding Spelling Wisdom book in order to use it.
abrightmomParticipantAny updates on the possibility of ULW 3 being ready for fall? 🙂
Sonya ShaferModeratorULW 3 will not be ready for fall, unfortunately. I’m working on it, but the finish line is a ways off.
CrystalNParticipantAny chance for next fall?
Sonya ShaferModeratorNext fall stands a much better chance. 🙂
abrightmomParticipantThank-you Sonya! 🙂
langfordcrParticipantPiggy backing on this post….I’m just getting started with the Charlotte Mason method and trying to match up books.
I have a 4th grade child who I will start with Spelling Wisdom 1 but ULW 2 seems to be a better fit for him. Is this combo ok?
As for my 8th grader, it looks like Spelling Wisdom 3 will be a good fit. I also think ULW 2 would be good for her as grammar is a weak area. Will this combo work?
Or do you need to stick with Spelling 1/Language 1, Spelling 2/Language 2 combinations to make the lessons coorespond?
Sonya ShaferModeratorFirst, an update: ULW Book 3 is written and in page layout right now. Hurrah!
@langfordcr: Each ULW book is directly tied to the exercises given in its corresponding SW book. So a lesson in ULW Book 2 would start by saying, Read Exercise 4 in SW Book 2 and look at this particular aspect of it. Then the final piece of the lesson tells the student to prepare that exercise that was just looked at for dictation. So I think it would be confusing to try to do one ULW book and a different SW book. Does that make sense?langfordcrParticipantI missed this update when you posted it and just saw it this morning. This makes me happy! Thank you!
AmieParticipantThis is great news! I would like to use ULW 3 for my upcoming 8th grader in the fall, any chance it will be ready by then? Thanks!!
Sonya ShaferModeratorI hope so, but I can’t say for sure as I don’t know how long the rest of page layout and proofreading will take for both the student and teacher books.
langfordcrParticipantYes, I’m being impatient. 😉 We are starting school in July. Will I be blessed enough to start ULW 3 by then?
MONICASALAZZ79ParticipantHello, where can I buy ULW book 3?
