Hi!
I will be using Module 4 for next year’s history. I am debating between using TruthQuest or H.A. Guerber’s The Story of the Renaissance and Reformation for the spine. Would anyone care to share an opinion? I would so appreciate it.
Thanks,
Amy
csmammaParticipantHi Amy,
Right now we’re in module 4 and using Truthquest and Guerber. Truthquest recommends Guerber for a spine and sites the related chapters in the guide. IMO these three (SCM Modules, Truthquest and Guerber) weave together beautifully.
Have a great day!

mom2fiveParticipant:-)Thanks Heather! If you were only to purchase one or the other which would you recommend? I thought I would buy one new and wait to see if I can pick the other up used. I appreciate your help!
Amy
Rachel WhiteParticipantHeather,
How do you weave the SCM Modules with TQ?
Rachel
SummerParticipantGod is always looking out for me. I was just looking at my friends Truthquest for Eaarly American History and thought wow that would be great to do with the Greeks and the Romans I wonder if TQ would work well with SCM module. I found my answer right here. I would love to hear how you worked this 2 together. Summer
csmammaParticipantAmy, I personally would choose TQ because I LOVE the commentary! Also, in addition to the SCM Modules, the TQ guide gives even more great book suggestions.
Rachel, I still have yet to perfect the weave, but I’ll share with you whats worked for us so far. I have to warn you though, what works for us isn’t very creative – just practical. 🙂
We basically start at the beginning of the suggested book list for the SCM Module, while at the same time starting at the beginning of the TQ guide; We read the commentary, Guerber books where sited, and any additional books that look interesting. Though everything doesn’t line up in perfect chronological order; the times, places, people and events seem to overlap since we’re in the same general time period in history.
Blessings to you!
Heather
