DD9 is still struggling so much with reading and hates to read.  She really doesn’t want anything to do with it.  My Dad was suggesting that we do treasure hunts throughout the summer that she has to read herself.  The hope is that it will help her to have a desire to read and when she makes it through she gets the treasure/reward for her hard work.  The clues would have to be fairly simple for her to be able to figure them out.  If you have any ideas for clues or even rewards, I would greatly appreciate it.

This primarily for reading, but some math practice could be thrown in, too.  “Work out the correct answer to 45×22.  Then take it to Mommy for your next clue.”  Really, any school subject could be used.  Go to Mommy for 5 words to spell correctly, then you’ll get your next clue.”  My youngest DD excels, to allow her to be involved I could make her a treasure hunt also but include all sorts of other review things.
