I am considering moving my son from his current math ( Math Mammoth) to Ray’s and Life of Fred. He will be 8 in a few weeks. Has anyone transitioned into Rays after they’ve already done some math? We have done Singapore and Math Mammoth.

Could you just introduce LoF and continue MM as a potential supplement? Unless MM just isn’t working at all. Just a thought.

I am planning to transition to Ray’s from Saxon with my 10 & 12 year olds.  I want them to master arithmetic before beginning the higher maths.  I plan to give them the tests out of the parent teacher guide for the grade level they just completed and adjust accordingly.

After pulling my second grade dd from public school I started using LOF and Rays. We just started at the beginning of both and we alternate. Monday Wednesday is LOF Tuesday Thursday is Ray’s. Friday is Xtramath. Everyday she also does an online math game. With LOF she writes out everything, with Ray’s I make a worksheet in Startwrite with the problems for the days lesson. On the longer review lessons in Ray’s we only do even problems. Next year I will start Ray’s with ny Ker but she will only be doing the problem with manipulatives and not writing it out. This is what seems to work best for us.
