  • Last spring I ordered CM’s books and a companion. I have to admit I have read the companion, but her book set is a hard read for me. So, I am making myself read them bit by bit. Hubby and I are pretty sure that we are going to use the CM method, maybe some this spring and completely next year. It’s what I keep coming back to. I have a DD10 who is a 4th grade level, and DD7 who is an end kindergarten level (learning disabilities). Does anyone have any advice for someone who is just starting to fully research and plan everything? I have copied the Weekly schedule to use as a guide, also loved the suggestion about the scripture memory box, made it! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, this is a great site to be to learn about the CM method. I think the place to start is with scripture and some good books in other subjects like history, science, and literature. Narration is key, remembering that narration is not always just ‘telling back.’ Narration can take the form of drawings, dramatizations, speeches, projects… Then add as much outside time as you can, adding in Nature Study as you go. I think these few things will get you moving in such a delightful direction that you will be excited to then add music, poetry, picture study, etc.

    Blessings,

    Cindy
