As I sit here and type (live in MN) I see my children playing in the 10 acres God has provided, I hear the birds chirping a Spring hello, and I see the sunshine with it’s warmth that I’ve been longing for, for months.  We choose to live here for the many seasons, it’s just that sometimes winter seems to never end with 5 active boys and a set of parents who love the outdoors.

We went on a hour walk on our local path yesterday and it was packed!  God’s people have come out of our dormitory life.  I took 2 of my sons yesterday each alone on a mile and a half bike ride and just listened to them!  Wow what we learn when we just listen.  Today I took my 6 year old and he was just happy to go, not much said.

So today I am thanking God for our different seasons not just of weather but of life.  We were all beginning to hate eachother, well you know what I mean.  Now we are laughing, having fun and enjoying the new life we see: the trees budding, green starting to pop up under our feet, new nests being built and I love it.  Wanted to share with you all how thankful I am for his wonder, his awe and his ability to make me marvel at everything he can do.  It makes me remember my favorite (or at least one of them) verses: We can do all things through Christ!”

    Have a blessed Spring!  Misty

Yes!  I saw my first daffodils yesterday and our peeper frogs are chirping, the geese are nesting on the island on our pond, the turkeys were gobbling while we were milking this morning.  Life is good…Thank you God.

Nicely put Misty – so glad that spring is appearing in your part of the country – it is here as well in SW Illinois.  The long winters can play havoc on us all, but their is always God’s renewal and it is oh so worth waiting for.  Spring and Fall are my two favorite times of the year – I can’t handle the summers here, way to hot and humid for my English constitution!!  So I hide away in the summer, and come out for the other seasons.  We lived so long in Europe, that even my US born hubby does not find the hot summers to his liking, so we make the most of the days when we can throw doors and windows open, go for beautiful walks, and watch life blossom in our garden.  It sounds like you all had a precious time Misty, a time to replenish the soul and see that patience pays off – we have to go through the winters to have the blessings of the spring etc.  I just love seeing all the birds nesting, both our boxes and all our trees have residents playing house, and it is a joy – the bulbs are coming up and hopefully the grass will turn green soon.

Thanks Misty for sharing, when we take the time to notice the seasons and life around us in nature, we are really one with God – may we all get outside soon and enjoy.  A blessed spring to you all as well.  Linda

Aaahhh spring!  I’m praying that it will come here to Maine soon!  The boys and I were able to go and walk to the park/playground twice last week.  That was a wonderful blessing.  It was in the mid 40’s and sunny.  We also were able to see birds working on their nests and hear them singing away.  Beautiful.  It was so nice to get outdoors.  At our house half of our yard is still covered in snow.  It will be at least a few weeks to another month before we see any trees beginning to bud.  I’m praying that we will not see another snowfall.  But the promise of spring is around the corner!

Thank you Misty for sharing…. it’s nice to take the time to relish those moments and thank God.  Tomorrow will be beautiful here and may even hit 50 degrees!  We will be outdoors all day Wink  Maybe some more of the snow will melt in my backyard.  Here comes mud season and lots of mopping!!  LOL  Praise God!

Wanted to add one more thing we saw last night.  A Great Horned Owl is nesting in our back acres!  She was/is beautiful and just sat there one tree away from here nest protecting we believe her babies (they nest Feb/March) and she didn’t move though we were right under her.  Just one more amazing thing God has brought us to awe at!
