Hello,  this year I’m going to be starting modern and asia with my child who has mild cp, epilepsy and apraxia from a stroke at or before birth.  He is 13 isn’t reading independently yet, he’s able to read the Mcguffy primer but it’s difficult. We have done AO years 1-5 where I read everything aloud to him.  I had no peace about continuing AO and so I turned to SCM after talking with a fellow missionary( we’re  missionaries). I have implemented the Bible memory which is working beautifully.  He’s very resistant to narations but I can get him to tell me something back especially if I ask him to build it out of legos.  I’m excited to start SCM and believe we will have a wonderful year

    Hi Laurel!

I’m so glad to read that the memorization method is working well your your son.  I love to read that you are meeting him as his own person, right where he is, and helping him to grow from there.

    Well done Momma!
