Has anyone read the above title?  I am looking for a good alternative to Famous Men of Rome for my almost 9 and 6 year old.  There is no feedback on Amazon and I hesitate to purchase yet another resource that I may not like.

    Thanks,

    Mandi

Im not sure if you know this but FMoR is not the suggested spine in the guide that covers Rome. This is on the book list:

The Story of the Romans by H. A. Guerber, edited by Christine Miller (Nothing New Press edition; This edition contains revised and expanded material used in the lesson plans which is not included in other editions.)

Sorry, I don’t have any experience with the Pratt book.

Yes, I acutally started The Story of the Romans.  My kids weren’t getting it, and after posting here I realized they were probably a bit young for it, so I decided to try the other.  There just seems to be a lot of violence and I’m not sure I get when mythology leaves off and history begins.  It’s confusing to me, and I know my 8 and 6 y.o. aren’t getting it or liking it.  I do have the other resources, so maybe they will be better.  Thanks!
