From the website:
Read to Succeed is an exciting program that encourages students in grades K through 6 to read for fun. Students who complete six hours of recreational reading earn a free ticket to Six Flags! The program is available to teachers and schools at no cost to participate, and it’s a great way to motivate kids to read. The program deadline is March 3, 2014 at 5pm CST.
Homeschools can also participate. I think the teacher gets a free ticket, too. My kids got their 6 hours done in only a few days, so there is still time. Tickets are emailed to you, the teacher.

ServingwithJoyParticipantWe did this when we lived in Texas. It is a wonderful! But did just want to point out that when we participated, you had to live within so many miles of a Six Flags (and we are just over the limit in Oklahoma now). Hope some SCM families get to have a well earned day of fun!
Christine KaiserParticipantWe are doing it this year and there is nor milage restriction :). You can pick and choose which park you want to go to and 1 adult gets free ticket too:).

2flowerboysParticipantThank you for this! I signed up the same day, and my boys are excited! They have always loved to read, but this is on a whole new level! They started yesterday, the oldest timed in at 4 hrs! And youngest at 3! Not straight through..although they did spend over an hour in the beginning! WOW! They are even using stopwatches, and if they get interrupted they will pause them! They are taking this seriously! 🙂
mom2fourboysParticipantWe have done this the last few years and have enjoyed the free tickets. I love that I get one too as their teacher. The only down side is that two of my boys are too old to take part in it now.
I always chuckle at how easy the reading requirements are to reach the goal. They definitely didn’t have homeschoolers in mind when they set such easy reading goals. Lol!

Wings2flyParticipant@ 2flowerboys, my kids did the same thing! They even stopped the timer to look at the picture in the book. I am glad you are able to participate.
Wings2flyParticipantMy tickets are ready to print from my account. So if you submitted your student’s reading hours, be sure to log in and you can save the pdf and/or print your certificates/tickets valid June 9 – Aug. 3 2014. Kids’ tickets are for age 13 and under. Teacher’s free ticket is for age 21 and over. There is no mileage restriction and you can choose your park when you first sign up. This is such a nice program to participate in. I hope others can join in next year.
2flowerboysParticipantWe are excited! 🙂
Wings2flyParticipantThis program is open again for 2014-2015 school year and the deadline is March 2, 2015.
Laura.boraParticipantThank you! We did this last year because you recommended it, and we had a blast at 6 Flags! (Except for getting lost in New Jersey. That part wasn’t fun!)
Wings2flyParticipantBump. One month until the deadline. You can still sign up for it now.
homeschooltravelerParticipantThanks so much for sharing this! My kids love to read, and they will be so excited about this! I’d never heard of it until now. Thanks again!
missceegeeParticipantThanks for sharing!
Wings2flyParticipantBump. Just a reminder. About a week to the March 2 deadline.
