    Hi Everyone,

My 11 year old son has an opportunity to take a literature class that will be reading Sherlock Holmes books.  I remember reading somewhere that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was into the occult and I was wondering if anyone knew if this was reflected in any of the Sherlock Holmes books.  Unfortunately, I don’t have a list of the books they will be reading.  I don’t want my son reading books about the occult (weegee boards, calling on the dead, etc.), so any information you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

    Blessings : )

I’ve read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories. If I recall correctly, every mystery has a factual explanation that can be logically deduced. I remember a handful of cases involved a villainous character using trickery to produce a seemingly supernatural cause as a cover for the crime he is trying to get away with, but Holmes always discovers the true explanation for what is going on.

Thanks, Jordan!  I was wondering about Holmes, too.  You guys are great!
