My son recently received a kit that he LOVED (and so did my DH who also got the kit as a gift). The project was a hackysack. Once the sewing project was finished, you have a hackysack to play with. The kit complete with everything you need can be found at: http://www.jugglingstore.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=397, but you can also find free instructions online if you google something like “make your own hackysack footbag.”

I’ve also seen kids made knitted or crocheted hackysacks but we haven’t tried that yet.

I know it’s sometimes hard to get the boys interested in needlework, but this motivated my son!  Have fun.

How neat!  Thanks for the information.  It IS difficult to get our boy interested in anything that won’t blow up, make noise or work electronically!! Wink
