For those of you that follow the SCM curriculum guide do you find the literature selections to line up with the grade levels well? Coming from AO I am having a hard time knowing that the lit selections are good for the grade levels.

My oldest is reading Watership Down for recreational reading but it is listed for 11th grade but he can take as long as he wants or needs to read it. Since I know that he is not a very fast reader I do not want to bog him down with something for required reading that will drag him or his skills down.

I do use the Lit. guide and we are enjoying it. I have a pre-k through 4th grade and we do many if not all together. I read slow so we do a lot of listening on tape and all seem to grasp the concepts and storys.

As far as reading independently..the ones I have got for my boys they can read just fine and do great.. it’s just it isn’t interesting to them so they get bored with it. I am working off a list I have from a previous post here I asked about boys books and we are getting somewhere now.

So I do like the guide here and find it to be right on for our boys.

    Blessings,Misty
