For two years, I’ve been leading a Charlotte Mason book discussion group. The ten women who came to our first meeting had each believed they were the only ones using the CM method in our area. You can imagine how excited we were to find each other! Since then, we’ve grown to twenty women eagerly discussing Mason’s philosophy and the methods. The deep conversations we share every month have been literally and profoundly life-changing. I am honored to be part of this community!

One of the next steps we are taking as a group is the organization of annual conferences, and we were so excited to get Sonya Shafer for our very first one! She has been such a peaceful and reasonable voice for us all.

Whether you’re in South Florida or somewhere nearby, we’d love to have you join us!

(Please feel free to share this with anyone you think might be interested. If you are on Google+, here is a post you can +1 and share, to help us spread the word. Thank you!)

“I am. I can. I ought. I will” register for the Charlotte Mason Education Conference on October 14-15, 2016! Join us in Palmetto Bay, Florida for two days of instruction and encouragement with Sonya Shafer of Simply Charlotte Mason.

See the method in action when you take the role of a student in “A CM-Style Morning of Studies.” Hear talks like “Learning with Living Books,” “Good Habits are Not Just for Kids,” and “Five Gifts of Intentional Parents.” (See full description and schedule on the SCM website.)

Keep calm and register today! Cost is $85, with a family member ticket for $25.  Online registration closes September 30. These events are usually sold out.

I am really, really excited to see this. My husband and I live overseas so my (or our) opportunities for homeschool conferences are limited. BUT this fall we will be on furlough in Central Florida, starting right around this time, and I am hoping to come. My husband would love to come, too, but we don’t have much family nearby nor do our children know anyone, really. They will be 6, 4, and 2. It doesn’t seem possible that we could both leave them overnight to attend the conference. My question is, would there be any possibility of childcare on site, perhaps? Just wishing… I would love for both of us to be able to attend.

I am so excited to hear this! I am only an hour and a half or so away from the conference location. I have several friends who will be thrilled to hear about this conference. Thanks so much for all your hard work to bring Sonya to south Florida!

This is exciting! I’m about 2 1/2 hrs away. I would love to attend. I don’t know anyone around my area that does CM. This would be a breath of fresh air!!
