So, I’ve reached “planning your term” in the SCM Planning your CM education.

I have a resource that has 42 divisions, that equals 14 divisions/term.  How would you recommend dividing that when I get to “Planning Your Week?”  2 Chapters a week would be too much.  1 chapter a week would leave 6 left over at the end of the year.

    Any suggestions?

Do you use the handbooks?  They have an exam/make-up week at the end of each term…maybe read 2 extra chapters each make-up week?  Or plan an extra chapter for the first 6 weeks?  Summer reading? Just thinking out aloud w/ways I would consider:)  Gina

Plan two weeks each term to double up on that resource. For example the last two weeks of each term you do two divisions of that resource. Or you could choose a six week period to double up – maybe one where another resource ends and it gets lighter.

Thanks, i can see how I could double up on a couple of the weeks.  Is there a way to enter that into the Organizer, or do I just need to remember?

I’m not using the organizer yet, but I’ve used it a bit during a trial.  I think what I would do as a reminder to myself which chapters to double up is simply use a paper clip in the book it self to hold those two chapters together, then once we came to that place I would remember what they were marked for and then I could just mark them both as done in the organizer on the same day/week.

I’m not sure which resource you are using or which subject, but if you are using it just once a week, then another option is to schedule a second lesson two weeks out of each term.  You might schedule them in place of another resource that doesn’t have as many division and therefore is not used every week of each term.

Ruth, with the organizer, I would write for study method “do two chapters” or whatever. Then when you’re finished with that necessity, go back into the Org. and change it to what you want to do next.

Or you could enter into the scheduler page different instructions for the same resource. For the first time with one set of directions of use “one chapter…” and indicate which chapters you would do this for under “use chapters” section. For example, a resource could be using 10 chapters out of 16 and you’d have under ‘study method’ One chapter or whatever your directions need to be. This leaves the last 6 chapters for the next resource (same book, new entry).

For the second entry of same resource, instruct the organizer on the scheduler page to use only these 6 chapters and have the ‘study method’ be “2 chapters…” and instead of giving it a ‘start date’, use the ‘start after’ scroll  and press the first entry of this same resource. That way, when you finsh the first ten chapters with just one chapter being read and you click finshed on that final tenth chapter, the Org. will automatically roll over into the second entried, but same resource, for the 6 remaining chapters that require 2 chapters to be read.

Am I clear? This way, you don’t have to remember anything later on, you’v set it up to do exactly as you need without any further effort on your part.

Lety me know if I need to clarify something.

Or schedule it once a week, and the under teacher resources, schedule a “notes” resource with a note in the division to change it to scheduled on 2days. That notes resource, schedule it to start about when you want to make the change. I also schedule term start and ends the same way, so I can see how we are doing.

Thanks so much –  you moms are pro organizer users.  I think I need some Organizer lessons from you!

Suzikimom, I hope you’re feeling better
