Prayer requst

I have been working part time for our church and its daycare, mostly creating flyers and brochures and bookkeeping. Our church is small, so the daycare provides most of the income we need to pay salaries and bills and to maintain the building. At the end of last school year, we graduated 24 students from pre-K, and in September, they left for kindergarten. We have not been able to enroll many more students to take their places, so our tuition income is way down.
The church/daycare has had to make many cutbacks, so for the past 3 weeks, our senior pastor, tech guy, and I have not been paid. Anything. Furthermore, our denomination told us that we must have a degreed accountant doing the bookkeeping for any “aligned business” (which means the daycare), so going forward, I will only be keeping the books for the church.
The church & daycare work provided about 1/3 of my income (I’m a single mom), so this is going to be tough for us. I would like to ask you all to pray that our daycare would enroll more students so we can get caught up on our bills and reinstate the portion of my pay that I am still working for, and also please pray that I will somehow manage to make ends meet with what we have.
I have known for quite some time that I could not continue to spend much time away from home since my dad (who we live with) has Alzheimer’s, and he is at the point where he will no longer be driving and will soon need to have someone home with him at all times. So, ideally, I would like to find some work that I could do from home. I can do the church work somewhat from home, and I only have to go into the office for a couple of hours every Monday while my daughter is at home with my dad, so that works out…..just not quite enough money.
The irony of it is that if I had to go out and obtain a job away from home, we would have to pay someone to stay home with my dad during those hours. And I would probably have to put my last student into public school, which she and I do not want to do.

Is there a way that the government can hire you to take care of your Dad? I have heard of that before, but it is probably rare. If your Dad gets government assistance, it may be worth looking into.

Thanks, everyone. Not sure about the government thing. My dad has a good pension from his years as a U.S. Postal employee, so I don’t think we could do anything with that, but it’s worth checking out.
Arggghhhhh!!! I just noticed that I misspelled “Prayer Request” in the topic title. That will irritate me ALL DAY LONG, I’m sure…. Arrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!!
Praying it will all work out. And I did not even notice the spelling error in the title. I guess I read too fast. Have you looked into customer service jobs from home? This could be in the form of chat help if you have fast Internet or phone if it is quiet.
Customer service jobs…..well, I don’t have a heavy accent, and I’m from the Midwest, so I think that counts against me, LOL. Seriously, that might be an option, though.
I am trying to figure out ways to reach out with my design skills. I do not have a lot of formal training in graphic design, but I have some experience and have received positive feedback from outside my church on items I’ve created. Hopefully, God will open a door for that, and hopefully I’ll see it & not just walk right on by!
